James Hoyer Associate Jillian Estes is making an impact with her pro bono work. The Florida Bar’s Young Lawyers Division profiled Estes’ successful work for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. She volunteered to represent a father from Denmark, whose year 8-year-old daughter was being improperly detained in Tampa.

For Tampa young lawyer Jillian Estes, the call she received in her office would have caused any parent’s heart to stop.
The caller, a psychologist from Denmark, said his 8-year-old daughter, Daniela, was being illegally held by her mother in Tampa. Daniela had been to visit her mom for a summer vacation, he said. Now her mom refused to let her return home.
It was a call that Estes is trained to handle.
